Wolfville’s Rail Trail

Bike or walk the rail line that once connected Wolfville to places like Yarmouth and Halifax. Take in gorgeous landscape and coastal views. The Rail Trail also provides quick access to the Farmer’s Market and popular downtown places.

This trail is located adjacent to the old railway tracks.

Home Town of the Father of Confederation

Sir Charles Tupper was the longest-surviving Father of Confederation. He led Nova Scotia into Confederation in 1867. He went on to serve as the sixth Prime Minister of Canada in 1896.

Charles Tupper studied at Horton Academy, Wolfville, Nova Scotia (now Acadia University) before going on to study medicine at the University of Edinburgh, becoming a doctor in 1843.

Gaspereau River Tubing

Spend a sunny summer afternoon floating down the Gaspereau River. The float stretches 2.5 kilometres along the river. Participants are instructed to exit the float at the Greenfield Road bridge.

This market takes place every Saturday morning year-round (and Wednesday evenings in the summer months) in a vintage warehouse. Many makers and farmers are there to provide people with delicious goods such as cheeses, wines, ciders, produce, pastries, and more!

Cape Split Hike

This 16-kilometre (return trip) hike offers breathtaking views to all who partake.

The hike starts a little boring or typical to some, but the end brings amazing views that you wouldn’t want to miss!
