All special places, museums and memorials to forestry and woodland heritage in New Brunswick are eclipsed by the World’s Largest Axe in Nackawic – a 19.5 metre (64 feet) long, eight ton double-sided axe with a stainless steel blade that stands on a concrete base used to simulate a tree trunk.
It was built in 1991 to commemorate the selection of Nackawic as Forestry Capital of Canada.
