‘Enfilade-de-Maisons-en-Brique-Rouge-de-Yamachiche is an alignment of twelve residential buildings built mainly during the second half of the 19th century.
The main body of the buildings has a rectangular plan and elevations ranging from one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half stories. The residences are distinguished by their red brick facing and white, wooden, and black cast-iron ornamentation.
This set is classified as a heritage site. It includes the Louis-Léon-Lesieur-Desaulniers house, classified as a heritage building. Also, it includes two archaeological sites listed in the inventory of archaeological sites in Quebec.
The Pointe-Yamachiche conservation site has been designated by the World Wildlife Fund and Nature Québec/UQCN as important for biodiversity. There are a variety of ecosystems: wet meadows, mature forests, open environments, and delta.
The site is well-known to ornithologists. Two-thirds of the 300 species that regularly frequent Quebec are found there. At least a hundred species of birds are observed there each year, some of which are at risk. It is also frequented in the fall by waterfowl hunters and in the winter by ice-fishing enthusiasts.
