Western Development Museum (WDM)

The Western Development Museum (WDM) is the largest human history museum in Saskatchewan, with a collection of almost 80,000 artifacts, making it a must-see!

 

This is a great kid-friendly place where they will learn the history behind each artifact, play games, make crafts and learn savvy settler skills.

York Lake Regional Park

A popular park amongst locals. People love to relax and spend quality time here. Offer tourists a beach, trail, and playground for kids to enjoy.

The park was established in 1969, where it was once called Pebble Lake. It was a recreational site for York colonists years before.

Ravine Ecological Preserve

An urban nature preserves with a large wildlife habitat including wetland, meadow and treed area. Great access to many birds in all areas. A very good 2.8 km walk on and around the sanctuary. Beautiful trails with floating bridges and many bird viewing.

Grab your running shoes, binoculars, and camera, as it is a sight to see.

The only East-Central Saskatchewan indoor aquatic facility offering year-round swimming. Come here to enjoy a lazy river, hot tubs, steam rooms, sauna, 2-storey waterside and zero-depth beach entry indoors.

Sunflower Art and Craft Market

Sunflower is hosted every September with countless artists from Yorkton and worldwide. The market continuously has pottery, photography, paintings, jewelry, metalwork, garden décor, specialty foods, and more!

Food is not far away if you feel hungry because there are food vendors on location.

Located minutes from Yorkton, this motorsport facility has hosted countless championship series events in past years and is a staple of Saskatchewan motocross.

Home Town of David MacIntyre

David MacIntyre is a famous Canadian composer of opera, music theatre, choral, and more. His music has been performed in more than 30 countries.

MacIntyre is now a professor of Music Composition at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver but was born here in Yorkton. MacIntyre is predominately known as a theatre composer.

Back Forty Brewery

The company’s brewery was born from a love of craft beers and an empty warehouse. They use the Smart Bree system to brew fresh and high-quality craft beer.

The creation of the company all started when co-founder Corey Geedes took note of the brewing system from an episode of Bar Rescue.

You get to taste different craft beer types at their taste test table. If you’re not a beer fan, their menu is filled with tasty meals.

Deer Park Golf Course

This is one of the top-ranked courses in Saskatchewan! It is an 18-hole course with one signature hole, the 8th, where the landscaping has combined rock, railroad ties, and a fountain making it a challenging but exciting hole to conquer.

There is a driving range if you want to warm up before your game or just want to hit some balls and enjoy a meal afterward. There is a very inviting restaurant at the course.
