Allan Hawco is an actor and producer, best known for his roles in the series Republic of Doyle, ZOS: Zone of Separation and The Book of Negroes, and the television films H2O and The Trojan Horse.

Hawco was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, as the youngest of four children but moved to at an early age. He is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal.

  Most recognized from his lead role as ‘Jake Doyle’ on the CBC hit TV series, “Republic of Doyle”, Allan also served as the Co-Creator, Showrunner, Executive Producer, and Head Writer for the Gemini-nominated series (6 seasons). In 2005, Hawco co-founded and is still currently the Co-Artistic Director of The Company Theatre in Toronto Canada.

  Goulds is a rural neighbourhood in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Goulds was amalgamated with Wedgewood Park and Kilbride into the city of St. John’s in 1991.
