Filled with rich stories, the CNR Park is a true reflection of Canadian history and railway evolution. Before its transformation into the park, the land was the Palmerston station and rail yard. The CNR donated the area to the town, restoring it and turning it into a tourist and historical site. The park includes amenities like a swimming pool, tennis courts, walking trails, and interpretive signs narrating the mass history of the park.
The last steam engine to operate in the Palmerston yard was also donated by the Canadian National Railways (CNR) and is currently the highlight display at the park. Other displays at the park include a box car and two cabooses on the retained rail line beside the station. Visit this park for a peek into the town’s rich history!
