On May 28, 1934, five identical girls were born to Oliva and Elzire Dionne in the tiny community of Corbeil, just south of North Bay. They were the first quintuplets known to survive infancy.
Their story captivated the world and drew three million visitors to “Quintland,” briefly rivalling Niagara Falls as Canada’s top tourist attraction. The family’s humble log home has been relocated to North Bay’s waterfront and transformed into a museum.
Inside you’ll find original artifacts, photographs, clothing, and memorabilia. Admission is free (donations welcome), and the guided tours — sometimes led by a member of the Dionne family — are deeply moving. A remarkable and uniquely Canadian story.
