Fort Anne National Historic Site

01

Fort Anne National Historic Site holds important national history behind it. It is land originally belonging to the Mi’kmaq Peoples, the location of European colonization and settlement in the 1600s, and a huge source of power struggles and ownership disputes across various groups.

The Officers’ Quarters Museum is an onsite museum where you can learn more about the history of Fort Anne and how Annapolis Royal came to be. The staff even runs guided tours of the Vauban-style Fort on the site.

When planning your visit, it is recommended that you dedicate two to three hours of your day to Fort Anne to make the most out of your time!
