Gitwangak Totem Poles

01

Near Gitwangax, you cannot miss historical wooden totem poles. In the 1830s, Eagle (Laxskik) and Wolf (Laxgibu) clans commemorated their history in a series of carved house poles.

They were originally erected along the shore of the Skeena River.
