Best known for her roles as Kate Austen in Lost and Tauriel in the Hobbit film series, actress Evangeline Lilly was born in 1979 in Fort Saskatchewan. She grew up here “surrounded on all sides by the never-ending golden fields of wheat that so signify the Canadian prairies.“

She received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Kate Austen in the ABC series Lost (2004–10). Lilly has had a remarkable career and is featured in films such as Ant-Man and Avengers: Endgame.
