Lock 34

02

The Trent-Severn Waterway took almost 100 years to complete. The Fenelon Falls lock 34 was built at the end of the 19th century. The dynamite blasting for the canal sent 50-pound rocks flying far and wide over the surrounding buildings.

Only a quick walk from downtown Fenelon Falls, Lock 34 is located on an island with a wide variety of services. Watch the lock-in operation or sit nearby to hear the rush of the water.
