Manitouwadge is surrounded by some of the most dramatic backcountry waterfalls in Northern Ontario. High Falls on the Pic River cascades 30 metres down a steep escarpment. Twin Falls on the Kagiano River is a unique double waterfall well worth the trip.

Other falls in the area include Manitou Falls, Middle Falls, Nama Falls, Labrador Falls, Four Bay Falls, and Small Falls. Most are reached via logging roads with a short hike at the end — you’ll want a truck or SUV and a sense of adventure.

The Township publishes a free waterfall access guide with maps and difficulty ratings. Pick one up locally or download it from their website. These are wild, undeveloped falls — no guardrails, no crowds, just raw northern beauty.
