The North Bay Museum is housed inside the beautifully restored Canadian Pacific Railway station on the waterfront. It’s a fitting home for a place that brings the city’s rich past to life.
Permanent exhibits cover the Nipissing First Nations, the fur trade, the lumber industry, railway history, and military heritage. Upstairs, a charming recreation of downtown North Bay from the 1920s to 1940s features replicated storefronts — a real treat for history lovers.
Tip: ask the staff to turn on the electric model train display. It’s a hidden gem that most visitors don’t know about.
