If you’re looking for a quiet, family-friendly beach day, Olmsted Beach on Trout Lake is a lovely choice. There’s a lifeguard on duty in season, boat ramps, and free parking.
Paddleboarding and surfing are available for the more adventurous. The beach is clean and well-maintained, but it’s the setting that makes it special — Trout Lake is beautifully framed by boreal forest.
Pack a picnic; there are no food vendors, but there are plenty of amenities for a relaxing day. The atmosphere is a world away from crowded southern Ontario beaches.
