The Port-Royal National Historic Site is among the first European settlements in North America and Canada’s first and oldest National Historic Site. The land was originally occupied by the Mi’kmaq People before European colonization.
Nowadays, the site is used for educational purposes and was remodelled as a French colony in the 1600s, from the buildings all the way down to the tools. With knowledgeable staff and volunteers who may also serve as guides around the site, seize the opportunity to discover more about such a crucial time in Canada’s history.
