This large garden area, created and maintained in honour of William Shakespeare, is a quaint and relaxing site for an afternoon stroll.
Of great interest to many visitors is the 65-foot tall chimney, acting as a landmark for this historic locale. The chimney is all that remains from a fire that took place in 1919, burning down the Dufton Woolen Mill that originally occupied this site.
The garden contains a variety of plants, many of which have been mentioned in Shakespeare’s plays. The location also houses picnic benches, as well as a beautiful gazebo, frequently used as a location for weddings.
Entrance into the park is free for all visitors and contains a wheelchair-accessible ramp for assisted access into the grounds.
