History

An experience that transcends time in an environment of history, nature and gastronomy.

The Oka Abbey, also known as the Abbey of Notre-Dame du Lac, was a Trappist Cistercian monastery in Oka. The main monastery structure is made of grey stone and surrounded by a dozen outbuildings on a 270-hectare plot. With a decline in the number of monks by the early 21st century, the monastery ended operations.

Now you can stay here in a hostel. Beautiful building, delicious breakfast, loud hallways, cold rooms, and excellent showers!

Don’t miss the Sacred Bistro.
