Arborg and District Multicultural Heritage Village

The Arborg and District Multicultural Heritage Village was once an empty field in Arborg, MB. In 1999 a grassroots organization created the idea of building a heritage village in the town next to the Icelandic river. There are now 14 buildings that have been moved and added to create the village. You can visit and even go on a tour of this village.

The heritage village also includes Old Time Campgrounds that are available to book each summer. A scenic walking bridge connects the Village to the Town of Arborg.

The World’s Largest Curling Rock

The town of Arborg is home to the world’s largest curling rock. It is located just outside the Arborg curling rink.

The rock was built in 2005 to pay tribute to two local high school curling teams who won the provincial high school curling championship titles. When you visit the rock you will notice a plaque below it that highlights the accomplishments that the teams had on the history of curling in Arborg.

Arborg Public Library

The Arborg public library is located on Main Street in the commercial section of the town. Most towns have their own public libraries but the part that makes Arborg’s library special is that it is located in the historic CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway) station.

The library also has a beautiful park with benches and picnic tables available to use.

Arborg Bakery

Arborg Bakery has been around since the 1940s and is known for its European bread recipes.

The bakery is quite well known and is a popular place to stop while in town. Even though the bakery has been around since the 1940’s the original building remains almost the same as when they opened it. As well as the building, the bakery now has a food trailer that they take to different places around Manitoba to serve their food.
