Pioneer Village Museum

Established back in 1967, the Pioneer Village Museum is set to create a small rural Manitoba community in the early 1900s.

Within the grounds is a house, railways station, barbershop, blacksmith shop, school, store and much more.

The pioneers from this region were mainly Polish, Ukrainian and German. They faced many hard times and carved out the landscape to adapt to a new way of life.

The Museum is run primarily by volunteers. Take a step back in time with your family to enjoy what life was like in the Brokenhead.

Manitoba Glass Works Historic Site

The Manitoba Glass Works in Beausejour is the site of the first glass container factory in Western Canada. In the early 1900th, glass-blowers from Poland and the United States, aided by local labour, used silica sand to produce bottles for breweries and soft drink companies in Winnipeg, serving the prairie market.

The Beausejour works were closed by 1914. No buildings remain at the site but the concrete foundations can still be seen. It is a Manitoba-designated historic site.
