Manitoba Antique Automobile Museum

Recommended by Fred Miller

The museum owes its existence to a local farmer, Isaac Clarkson. In his youth he starting restoring. One of his first prizes was a 1909 Hupmobile. He continued to acquire and restore vehicles at his farm for year after year. Mr. Clarkson donated his entire collection to the foundation, which at the time numbered some 65 vehicles. The museum has continued to grow and expend its collection which even includes a vintage school house. It is hard to believe what is behind the museum doors.

Birtle Riverside Golf

Recommended by Jean Pizzie

Located in the scenic Birdtail River Valley, the Birtle Riverside Golf Club has been providing an outlet for local golf enthusiasts since 1931. Situated right on the river, this relaxed rural course has water in play on six of its nine holes (a feeder creek to the river cuts across four fairways). Trees and grass thrive in the moisture-rich environment of the river valley (the course is completely irrigated), and its thick vegetation lends Riverside a peaceful atmosphere.
