Bittersweet Fine Craft & Art

Burnstown is a picturesque village in the heart of the Ottawa Valley and home to world-renowned artists, unique galleries, shops, and eateries, all housed in heritage buildings.

This local art and craft studio is becoming a thriving fine craft and art destination. It showcases over 50 Canadian artists in a diverse curated collection of art jewelry, paintings, pottery, textiles and more. The studio also shows the works of local artist Chery Babineau and her portfolio of various bird paintings. Make sure not to miss their annual fall show, where people from around the community will come together.

Blackbird Café

This rustic local café is very popular amongst the residents of Burnstown and surrounding areas. This café has a wide variety of delicious food for you, including Steak au poivre, maple chipotle salmon filet, beef & sauteed mushroom wrap, quesadillas and grilled veggie wraps. Café Laurent

This local ice cream shop is a big hit amongst tourists and locals alike. Located just minutes from Calabogie and the heart of Burnstown, Cafe Laurent prides itself on serving only the best ice cream and coffee. They have a variety of flavours for you to enjoy, including red velvet cake, moose tracks, salted caramel toffee and Bordeaux cherry.

It is only open from spring to fall, so make sure not to miss it.

Neat Coffee Shop

The Neat Café is known for its wood-fired pizza, coffee and live music. Over the years, this café has been able to book names like the Tokyo Police Club, July Talk and the Trews. This is a very popular place for locals and visitors alike, and you are bound to find something you enjoy.

Burnstown Beach

Enjoy a sun-soaked day on the beautiful sandy beach, swim in the clear, clean water of the Madawaska River and let the kids burn off some energy on the play structure. The Paddle Shack, located next to the boat launch, rents kayaks and paddle boards for those wanting to explore the Madawaska River. A seasonal concession stand offers refreshments, and beach essentials are also for sale.

Burnstown Farmers Market

Only open in the spring, summer and early fall is the Burnstown Farmers market. Local farmers and other vendors came together to sell various local goods, including fresh produce, paintings, soaps, jewelry and more.

Billy-Bob’s Burgers and Fries

This local chip truck is a popular place to grab a bite to eat in the summer months and serves burgers, hotdogs, French fries and more for you to enjoy. It is located in a large green space perfect for enjoying food while looking over Burnstown.

Waba Cottage Museum and Gardens

This museum is full of memories from the past, with many Local families donating artifacts from around Renfrew County and beyond. These artifacts vary from the best China to farm harvesting equipment. There are also beautiful gardens surrounding the museum that was first developed in 1999 by the local community.

This museum is open for weddings, events, picnics, tours and other special events. This museum is, however, only open from June until thanksgiving weekend so make sure to check it out during these times.
