The network of lakes and rivers around Manitouwadge offers some of the quietest paddling in Ontario. Routes range from easy day trips on local lakes to multi-day wilderness expeditions through the boreal.

The Pic River system connects several of the area’s famous waterfalls, making for a spectacular canoe trip if you’re up for it. Wildlife sightings — moose, beavers, loons, eagles — are common.

This is paddling as it should be: no crowds, no motorboats, just you and the water.
