Fishing — Hundreds of Lakes

With hundreds of lakes in the surrounding area, Manitouwadge is a fisher’s paradise. Walleye, northern pike, perch, salmon, whitefish, and lake trout are all found in local waters.

Some lakes are easy-access spots right off the highway. Others are remote fly-in or paddle-in destinations for those looking for a true backcountry experience. Winter ice fishing is equally popular — the frozen lakes draw anglers from across the region.

Maps of local fishing lakes are available at the Township office and online. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or trying it for the first time, there’s a lake here with your name on it.
