Sherwood Forest Camping Park

Sherwood Forest Camping Park is surrounded by a luscious pine forest, perfect for an outdoor excursion. The park offers over 200 sites for camping in either a tent, trailer, or motorhome. Get close to the wild within your comfort zone. Kids can chat with the local Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men during the free hayrides.

The family-owned site offers a supervised family pool and an unsupervised adult pool for water-loving folk. Play volleyball beat your brother up in ping pong, or stick to an arcade game. To keep things interesting, the park hosts adult dances every two weeks, as well as children’s dances which are promised to be more peculiar.

Ask for the time and dates of any horseshoe tournaments and themed dress-up weekends. With many children’s programs like movies and arts and crafts, your children (or other people’s children) will always be occupied. For more information, check out their website!

Valley Pizza Restaurant

Valley Pizza Restaurant is a local pizza shop highly praised for its mouthwatering donair. Enjoy their savoury fish and chips, a Boba pizza, a Greek pizza, or a local sub. The location offers both dine-in and takeout. On busy nights this place is packed with a long wait time, so plan. Again, the donairs are highly recommended.

Testimonial from local guide Amanda Carter, Google Reviews:

“Our first donair experience. It was amazing. I’m unsure how many other places will live up to the high bar set.”

Avery’s Farm Market

Cruise through the aisles of Avery’s Farmers Market and explore the local produce grown only a couple miles from where you stand. The location is wheelchair accessible. The friendly staff will help you find whatever fruit or vegetable you seek. Enjoy great pricing on organic and fresh produce.

Though the soft serve ice cream is NOT recommended, the market also has a great selection of regular ice creams.

Testimonial of Elizabeth Hatt, Google Reviews:

“Lots of fresh veggies. Good variety of summer flowers. Very helpful employees are always ready to assist. Go there often.”

Hobby Horse Farm

Hobby Horse Farm is a privately owned stable operated by the Wade family for nearly 60 years. It is a beautiful setting with lush forested trails, streams, waterfalls, and thriving fields. The farm breeds Morgan horses, raising over 100 foals in their lifetime. They offer a B&B whereby riders can bring their horses and stay over to enjoy the trails or take advantage of the rings (indoor and large outdoor) as well as the cross-country course.

The farm also welcomes beginners seeking refuge in a peaceful environment with the opportunity to walk the trails. The fully furnished guest house can accommodate up to 20 people with eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms. A large seating area downstairs can be used for recreational purposes. The site hosts equestrian events; visit their website for dates and times.

Testimonial from Liz Myers-Dieleman, Google Reviews:

“Myself, my husband and seven friends spent seven nights at the Hobby Horse Farm.  We LOVED it.  Corey, Megan and their family are very helpful and accommodating.  The house is huge and comfortable.  There was no lack of space for all of us.  We are a group of miniaturists who were working on a joint project.  The lovely sunroom made a perfect bright workroom.  All the rooms were comfy, and the price is very reasonable.  We highly recommend it and will be back next year!”

Testimonial from Local Guide, Tristan Redden, Google Reviews:

“Great value compared to Cineplex. Concessions are moderately priced, and being able to bring your own is a huge plus. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and overall is a great experience. A great summertime family night.”

Tupper Lake

Take your kayak, canoe, or electric watercraft on a peaceful cruise at Tupper Lake. The community living beachside asks that no gas/diesel boats are loaded as they use this lake for drinking water. Look at the thriving wildlife using this lake for daily needs and wants.

Swimming is not recommended in this shallow and rocky lake bottom, yet tanning and other water-friendly activities are still available. Enjoy a paddle across the lake or read a book by the quiet waters.
