Mayflower Centennial Park

Located at the heart of Combermere, the Mayflower Centennial Park is a hidden gem. This quaint park houses a public boat launch, a newly built gazebo, a monument and tons of information on the region’s history.

Amenities here include a parking lot and washroom facilities. The park is open 24 hours every day, all year round. This park is also conveniently located a few minutes from the Kamaniskeg Lake Lookout. Visit this park for a quiet escape into nature and history!

Kamaniskeg Lake Lookout

Overlooking the spot of the Mayflower ship tragedy, the Kamaniskeg Lake Lookout is worth the stop. It offers insightful information on the ship accident, a paddle ship which sank in 1912, and breathtaking views of the nearby Kamaniskeg Lake. If you enjoy adventure sports, you can further visit the exact spot of the accident and scuba dive 25 feet below to explore the ruins.

This lookout is perfect for a quick stop on your journey to Combermere.

Madonna House Lay Apostolate

Combermere is best known as home to the Madonna House Apostolate.

“We welcome you to come and visit Madonna House for a brief tour. We offer daily tours of the Madonna House Training Centre in Combermere. The tour includes visiting the Island Chapel, the grounds of Madonna House and Our Lady of Combermere. The tour takes approximately 45 minutes and ends at the Gift Shop and Museum, open Tuesday through Saturday during the summer months.”

Opeongo Trail Resort

Canoe Lake

A popular lake in the town of Combermere, the Canoe lake is 600 meters long and 300 meters wide. The outflow of the lake ranges from an unnamed creek to Negeek Lake on the Madawaska River. The main activities here include canoeing, fishing, birdwatching, walking and hiking. It is perfect for a day out with friends or a short afternoon walk in nature!
