Built in 1911, citizens rescued the Coronation Roadmaster’s House Museum from demolition and rented it out to the public soon after. Today, the house is considered a registered historical site by the Province of Alberta.
To display the old CPR and pioneer artifacts, it was necessary to expand the museum and add new buildings, including the Wheatridge School, the CPR Bunkhouse, and a new Disney Building.
The campground is right along the Coronation Dam and has 50 serviced camping sites and a large tenting area.
The washrooms and shower facilities on site are newly built, as well as the large playground. The camp kitchen can be rented for family gatherings, sports teams, picnics, and even barbeques!
Take some time and head to the Coronation Dam to fish for Rainbow Trout or Northern Pike, but please refer to Alberta fishing regulations first!)
This outdoor swimming pool is a 4-lane 25m pool also featuring an attached kiddie pool and 7-person hot tub on the main deck. For those who want to enjoy a refreshing pool party on a hot summer day, the pool is available for rental but operates from late May until late August.
