Delhi Tobacco Museum and Heritage Center

Discover Delhi’s tobacco farming legacy at its very own museum and heritage center. This museum was built in 1979 with the intention for its layout to resemble a tobacco pack barn. Authentic farming equipment, carefully curated displays, and an informative video screen all aid in understanding the process of tobacco agriculture.

Besides hosting agricultural exhibits, the museum also holds exhibits exploring Delhi’s rich multicultural history. Storytelling murals, traditional festive dresses, and beautiful Ukrainian Easter Eggs are some of the must-sees in this area.

Various flower gardens and a few examples of tobacco have been planted on museum property, all of which are maintained by the Delhi and District Horticultural Society. A tobacco kiln and old mill are also on-site – call ahead to see if these buildings are available for a tour.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Style’s Cafe

If you are passing through Delhi in the morning, make sure to stop by Style’s Café for breakfast. Are you in the area for the afternoon or evening? The café also supplies lunch, dinner, and kid’s meal options on its fairly priced menu.

With around 13 differently-sized tables and bar stool options, Style’s is roomy enough to accommodate groups while still providing you with a cozy small-town diner experience. Great coffee, comfort, and customer service make it a top recommendation for a hearty meal that tastes like home.

Delhi District German Home

The Delhi District German Home is one of the many multicultural halls that have existed at one time or other in Delhi. It opened in 1950 and is still in use today. Its original purpose was to preserve the culture and community of German immigrants, but it now has a greater function as the town’s social zone. It is home to a bowling alley and the Black Forest Lounge (19+), which has regular comedy and karaoke events. In the summer, the German Home adds to the entertainment by hosting live music on its patio.

Its banquet hall is regularly booked for weddings, dinners, and other special events.

Delhi Quance Park

On a warm sunny day, take a walk along the trail at Quance Park and snap a few pictures at the Quance Dam. Go fishing in Big Creek, or simply enjoy a coffee on one of the many benches. The sound of water falling at the dam combined with chipper bird songs makes Quance Park the perfect place for a peaceful outdoor lunch.

Amenities at the park include a pavilion, wheelchair-accessible and regular portable toilets, and trail signage.

Stubby’s Dairy Freeze

Stave off your hunger with a juicy burger or cool down with some Hewitt’s Ice Cream at Stubby’s Dairy Freeze. This is another small, family-owned business that serves great grub for low prices. There is no indoor dining but plenty of places to sit outside the shade.

Look for the big blue sign on the main road in downtown Delhi and don’t forget to bring some cash! Stubby’s does not accept debit or credit cards.
