John R Park Homestead

A visit to the John R. Park Homestead is a time travel to the 1850s! Explore the wonderfully restored home, experience the old sawmill and blacksmith, stroll the lakeside walk and gardens and pop into the gift shop.

North 42 Degrees Estate Winery & Bistro 42

This is a beautiful winery and bistro that definitely needs to be on your places to visit when you head to Essex!

3rd generation farmers from Polish heritage run this wine yard. Martin, who is very active in farm operations, was exposed to grapes at a young age. He had a career as a medical researcher and quality manager when he went back and got a wine-making certificate from Washington State University. He put his heart into this business, so you can’t go wrong visiting this winery.

There are a tasting room and restaurant in the same facility. The beautiful restaurant overlooks the vineyards and lake. If you’d like to stop by the Bistro 42, lunch is open from Monday to Saturday, 12 pm to 4 pm. Dinner is open from Thursday to Saturday, 5 pm to 8 pm and Monday, 5 pm to 8 pm.

Sadler’s Pond Nature Park

Sadler’s Pond Nature Park is a nice large park. It has a one-kilometre walking path, two ponds, a dock, picnic tables, and a pavilion.

The trail is great for bird-watching, cross-country skiing, and horseback riding.

Bridlewood Optimist Park

Are you looking for a beautiful and quiet place in Essex, Ontario? Look no further! The Bridlewood Optimist Park is the perfect place to go for a quiet walk to enjoy time with family and friends.

Hungry and looking for some authentic Asian food in Essex, Ontario? Vang’s Thai Sushi is the place for you! The restaurant has been a family opened and operated restaurant since 2005. Their menu offers foods from all across Asia. For example, they offer pork spring rolls, egg rolls, vermicelli, wonton soup, pho soup, chicken balls, pad thai, and various types of sushi. Gyros & More

Gyros & More is a well-known Greek restaurant in Essex. They currently have eight locations, but the first one to open was in Essex and was opened by Costa Apatsidies.

The main menu item is their Gyros which come in several different kinds such as original, chicken, Greek, Caesar, and Gyro delight. They also offer onion rings, Greek fries, poutine, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, and more. All their food is made with 100% fresh and natural ingredients. Be sure to check them out!

Essex Centre Sports Complex

If you are in Essex and are looking for a fun activity, then you need to make sure to visit the Essex Centre Sports Complex. The complex offers visitors several activities that are fun for all age groups. Such activities include an ice pad that is an NHL-sized rink.

They also have a practice pad that has blenchers that seat 222 people. If you are in the mood for a walk, then they have a 210-metre indoor walking track that is free for the public to use! The complex also has dressing rooms, referee rooms, and meeting rooms.

Oxley Beach Golf Course

Visit this welcoming and beautiful golf course. This is an 18-hole golf course designed in 1963. It is located along Lake Erie’s Northshore Wine Route. This golf course is 2380 yards big with 16 sand traps, a small natural pond, and shorter tee boxes that are an option on four holes.

There are large beautiful trees surrounding the golf course. The signature hole features a small pond in front of the tee box with a marsh on the left and a willow tree just right of the center. There are estate wineries nearby, fresh fruits and vegetables, restaurants, public beaches, camping and historic parks! You won’t regret your visit here.
