History

May-August

The museum’s name comes from the original Fort Ostell, built near Ponoka in 1885 during the Riel rebellion.

The Fort Ostell Museum exhibits the unique story of Ponoka’s history, including the early natives, Fort Ostell, the experiences of the settlers and the care of the mentally ill in Alberta.
