Best known for her roles as Kate Austen in Lost and Tauriel in the Hobbit film series, actress Evangeline Lilly was born in 1979 in Fort Saskatchewan. She grew up here “surrounded on all sides by the never-ending golden fields of wheat that so signify the Canadian prairies.“
She received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Kate Austen in the ABC series Lost (2004–10). Lilly has had a remarkable career and is featured in films such as Ant-Man and Avengers: Endgame.

Held every Thursday evening, the Fort Saskatchewan Farmers Market is located in the heart of Fort Saskatchewan, Legacy Park. The market features local baked goods, meats, crafts, seeds, and much more.
The Fort Saskatchewan Farmers Market is famous for the food trucks that attend, serving mini doughnuts, kettle corn, hotdogs, and more.

Joshua Kutryk was named Canada’s newest astronaut as the country marked its 150th birthday.
Kutryk was born in 1982 in Fort Saskatchewan. He was raised on a cattle farm in eastern Alberta. He enjoys backcountry skiing, cycling, mountaineering and paragliding. Attending St. John XXIII Catholic School till Grade 3, Kutryk knew deep down he wanted to go to space.
Kutryk was one of two recruits selected by the Canadian Space Agency in July 2017 through the fourth Canadian astronaut recruitment campaign.

Considered by most to be the most underrated NHL player of all time, Ray “The Wizard” Whitney is the pride of Fort Saskatchewan.
Whitney played nearly 20 years in the NHL, scoring over 1000 points and winning the Stanley Cup with the 2006 Carolina Hurricanes and fellow Fort Saskatchewan native Mike Commodore.

During the summer months, Fort Saskatchewan uses sheep to maintain the town’s parks grasses. This eco-friendly lawn care option also allows guests to interact with the sheep!
