Griffith Uplands Trail

This challenging 10 km hiking and snowshoeing trail encompasses four mountains in the Madawaska area. This beautiful trail has many variations in the terrain and incredible lookout points and takes an average of two-three hours to complete.

This trail is a hidden gem that is not well known by anyone in the area, meaning you are unlikely to find anyone else along the way. The trail, however, is not maintained frequently, so it is not suitable for everyone.

Jamison Mountain

This 7.2 km trail is generally considered moderately challenging and takes an average of 2 1/2 hours to complete. The stunning views over the Ottawa valley and access to the Lower Madawaska River make it a great trail for walking and hiking.

The trail is difficult to get to and is located off highland Creek Rd and a bumpy 2 km road. However, it is worth the drive as you’re unlikely to encounter many people on the journey.
