To travel to the Island, you must board a ferry. Most people will use the ferry service run by the City of Toronto, although it is feasible to take a private water taxi or a tender. On Queens Quay, the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal (the ferry docks) is situated between Bay and Yonge Streets. Tickets for ferries are available at the port on the city side or online. Three islands are accessible by ferry: Centre, Hanlan’s, and Ward’s Island. You may walk from one island to another since they are all connected. Centre Island has most of the kid-friendly activities and key attractions.

It’s a special place to sit and unwind after a hard day downtown, with the inner harbour and the Toronto Islands in the distance. The focal aspect of HTO Park West is the urban beach. The white beach is covered in bright yellow umbrellas that provide shade for those lounging in Muskoka chairs. Enjoy the view or go on a picnic. It’s a wonderful location to appreciate while taking in Toronto’s captivating waterfront. The name, stylized as HTO, is a pun on the sound of the letters in Toronto, TO, and the molecular symbol for water, H2O.
