Cochrane resident Paul Brandt is the most awarded male Canadian country artist.

In 1996, Brandt won Top New Male Artis of the Year at the CMT awards. Since then, Brandt has released multiple singles that have reached the Billboard Hot Country Songs.

Brandt moved back to Alberta in 2006 and lives near Cochrane.
