This provincial park was named by early Cree groups living in the Blyth area Nagagamisis, meaning a lake with a sandy shore. Aptly named, this park is lined by a beautiful strip of sandy shore. Nestled in the dense Boreal Forest, here is home to hundreds of species of birds who nest here, making Nagagamisis a bird watcher’s paradise. As a historical landmark, Nagagamisis park is home to indigenous artifacts that were dated back 1000 years, making this a scenic park with a very long cultural history.
