Komoka Railway Museum

This museum was incorporated in 1980 with certain goals in mind. It was meant to provide the necessary infrastructure for the preservation, cataloging, restoration, and display of artifacts, records, and other objects related to the exploration, settlement, development, and impact of the railroads in Komoka and the surrounding area. A portion of the historic Canadian National Railway station was converted into this museum.

The structure was relocated to its current location, next to the Komoka Community Centre and north of the CNR rails, after being bought as a museum in 1978. You don’t want to miss the rich history of this place. Visit them; they have a steam train you can check out!

The scenic Thames River runs alongside this provincial park. The river component of the park is located in mature forests, while a large portion of the previous agricultural area is now meadows. It is open all year round.

You can camp, hike, do mountain biking, fish, do horseback riding, canoeing and kayaking, and even cross-country skiing in the winter. The trails are not maintained, so use caution when hiking in the winter. This is an excellent place to visit with your friends and family and enjoy the outdoors.

Firerock Golf Club

If you love golf, then you’ll definitely love the Firerock Golf Club. This gorgeous course runs seamlessly across pastureland, environmentally significant Savannah grasses and the Oxbow River valley, intertwining with existing gravel spoil piles. It is framed by natural grasses and trees, intriguing land shapes, and ragged homemade bunkers.

The challenging par-72 championship layout measures 5,672 yards from the forward White tees, 6,279 yards from the Blue tees, 6,676 yards from the Gold tees, and extends back to a very taxing 7,183 yards from the tips (73 from the forward tees). Long story short, it will not disappoint!
