Lewisporte Heritage Centre

The Lewisporte Heritage Centre is a multipurpose centre located right on the coast of Lewisporte. The centre holds the By the Bay Museum, the By the Bay Craft Shop, and the Hann’s Point Player. The museum houses artifacts that were used throughout the history of the town. It is also a place to hear stories about the history of Lewisporte told by the people who lived through them, and the craft shop sells various pieces created by local community members. These include jewelry, home décor pieces, knitted goods, and more.

Besides the museum and shop, the centre is also home to Hann’s Point Players, a theatre group that puts on plays throughout the summer. There, you’ll be able to find dinner theatre production for both kids and adults and lunch hour concerts being put on. So, check out what may be playing during your time there.

Train Park

If you’re looking for a nice outdoor spot in Lewisporte, then the Train Park is a great place to visit. The park features multiple restored trains for you to look around and explore. And with the picnic tables available around the park make it the perfect place to sit down for a picnic lunch among the trees.

And if you’re looking for something to keep you active, the park also has a short hiking trail along the river. The trail is less than a kilometre and is great for bird watching and dog walking. Along the trail, you’ll get great views of the river and the wooded area and a greater appreciation for the beautiful nature in Lewisporte.

Lewisporte Craft & Trade Show

September

The Lewisporte Craft & Trade Show is a 3-day event that occurs every September in the Lewisporte Stadium. The show has over 80 vendors selling their products which range from paintings to decorations to handmade crafts, all made by local artisans from the surrounding communities.

As well as the products being displayed and sold, the event also features door prizes and other similar events. Some of the prizes that can be won can be worth hundreds of dollars and can be won by any lucky participant who enters.

So, look at all the hard work the local artists put into their craft, enter the door prizes, and have a good time enjoying what Lewisporte has to offer.

Citadel House

The Citadel House is a local NL record label based right in Lewisporte, but on top of that, they also double as a concert venue. Over the many years, the Citadel House has been in operation, they have been able to work with many local and nationally recognized singers and bands, including Fourthright, Daughter of the Moon, Ana LuĂ­sa Ramos, and more.

And after taking a few years to break, the Citadel House hosts live concerts. The venue focuses on indie and folk artists from around the province, so make sure you look at who might be playing during your time In Lewisporte.

Woolfrey’s Pond Trail and Campground

A great spot for camping in Lewisporte is Woolfrey’s Pond Campground. This campground has fully serviced and non-serviced sites that are perfect for RVs and tents and have everything you’ll need for a great stay. The campground is near Woolfrey’s pond, which has a beautiful beach and lookout areas.

There are also hiking trails and a boardwalk that spans the pond’s perimeter. And for the kids, the campground is near a playground and has a games/movie room that they can access.

With everything you can do in the area, Woolfrey’s Pond Trail and Campground is the perfect place to camp for your vacation.

Kinden’s Bakery & Café is a quaint little spit that serves great teas, coffees, and food. If you’re looking for drinks, they have specialty coffees like mochas and cappuccinos. For tea fans, they have a good mix of tea lattes and black and green teas. And if you’re looking for something other than tea or coffee, that has a selection of hot chocolates and smoothies to choose from.

For food items, they have a varied menu to choose from. To start, they have an all-day breakfast menu full of classic items with a unique twist. Moving from that, they have a sandwich, salad, and soup menu if you want a good, homemade lunch. And to finish off, they have a dessert menu full of sweet and tasty treats.

The outdoor eating area has a great ocean view, so you can eat while taking in the incredible scenery. And the food itself is some of the freshest seafood you can find.

And make sure to stop by the seafood market that’s also on the premise. There, you’ll be able to buy raw, fresh seafood to take home and make your meals. While there, you can also take a walk by the coast and enjoy what rural Newfoundland and Labrador have to offer.
