Prairie Tractor & Engine Museum

Prairie Tractor and Engine Museum is largely made up of the pioneer village of Coyote Flats, tractor collections and machine collections.

The Village of Coyote Flats houses three homes, a train station, a garage, a post office, a church, a school, a butcher shop, a barn, a fire station and a jail. The large vintage tractor and machine collections include various artifacts and farming equipment. The museum also offers guided tours for visitors and hosts various annual events like the Anniversary Tea, Spring Tractor Pull, Show & Shine and Harvest Days.

Open from May to September, this museum is a great place to immerse yourself in the town’s past and culture.

Cattlemen’s Chophouse

A hidden gem of the prairies, the Cattlemen’s Chophouse is in the old Picture Butte Hotel, surrounded by history and the region’s culture. Cor Van Raay Aquatic Center

Recently renovated, the Cor Van Raay Aquatic Center is the go-to spot for residents to kick back and relax on a hot summer day. Open seasonally during the summer months, the aquatic center is home to a pool with new change rooms and lockers, a 52-meter waterslide, a 3-meter diving board, a beach entry pool and a designated diving area with swim lanes.

Rain or shine, the Cor Van Raay Aquatic Center is the hot spot for families.

Picture Butte Campground

Here at the Picture Butte Campground, experience family camping at its best. The campground, located in the Northern area of the town near the Picture Butte Lake Reservoir, is a camper’s delight. The ground is surrounded by wildlife and steps away from the Walk-on-the-Wildside nature trail, where visitors can walk, hike or simply go bird watching. Other activities also include fishing in the reservoir.

Harry Watson Memorial Park

The Harry Watson Memorial Park is ideal for allowing your creativity to flow. With a large open space, mature trees, and lush grass, the park is also perfect for families to step out and spend a quiet and relaxing day soaking in the sun. The quaint park also houses two Baseball Diamonds that are available to rent for private games. Additionally, there is also a newly added dog park here where visitors can let their dogs run freely.

Lion’s Park & Playground

Owned and maintained by the municipality, the Lion’s Park is a nature lover’s delight. Surrounded by breathtaking, mature trees and home to countless species of birds, the park features a picturesque view. Come here for an afternoon stroll, or bring the children to play on the swings, slides and climbing equipment. There are also multiple benches located nearby for visitors to sit and relax. Other recreational amenities at the park include horseshoe pits, open ground space, volleyball nets and a basketball hoop.
