Salvage Fisherman’s Museum

Completely run by locals, the newly renovated Salvage Fisherman’s Museum operates on a seasonal basis. It is located in the Lane House, a typical fishing village home, the town’s oldest standing building, dating back to 1860. Set against the scenic backdrop of Salvage’s easternmost point, the building is a registered Heritage Structure by the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Salvage Fisherman's Museum

The exhibits depict Salvage’s domestic history from the 19th century through fishing equipment, tools and various other artifacts. The museum’s most cherished pieces include a 200-year-old candlestick, a teacher’s log book dating back to 1920 and an old curling iron. This spot is a must-visit for all history enthusiasts!
