Sauble Beach

The locals of Sauble Beach are proud to host the second longest freshwater beach in the world (11km) – after Wasaga Beach ON.

There is plenty of room for all visitors to find a patch of sand to soak up the sun upon. The beach is over seven miles long, extending gently across the waters of Lake Huron.

This is one of the very few beaches in Ontario where cars were, until recently, allowed to drive and park on the sand near the water.

Sauble Falls

Across from the parking lot on Bruce Road 13, accessed through Indian Trail Road, is the scenic Sauble Falls.

Both sides of the falls are viewable from nearby trails. Keep an eye out for fish who try to jump over the falls! The area is the spawning location for local trout and salmon.

Spirit Rock Conservation Area

The Spirit Rock trails are two loops taking visitors around the McNeill estate and the Spirit Rock Lookout.

Atop a high escarpment, you will find the lookout, as the path circles around the now ruined site of the “Corran,” a mansion built in the late 1800s. This mysterious place is known for its ruins, but also for its Indigenous legends.

Oliphant Fen Trail

This short wide boardwalk with bumper boards on both sides was built by local field naturalist groups and intended for wheelchair access as well as for walkers. The flowers, fresh air, and sunshine are magical.

The fen is a remarkable natural environment with updated signage to help you identify the unique plants, trees and flowers. It was named after Lorraine Brown, the first president of Owen Sound Field Naturalists.
