Big Shippagan Lighthouse

This lighthouse has a rich history, with over 150 years of remodeling and rebuilding before what stands today. The current structure was originally built in 1905. It is an octagonal tower with sloping sides and measures 51 feet tall. In 1924 it was remodeled to feature a keepers dwelling.

The structure has been well preserved and is steps away from the main street in Shippagan. It is a popular spot for visitors to take photos or stroll on the boardwalk. There is plenty of picturesque scenery and a great view of the local fishing boats in the nearby port.
