prison

The prison was last in service between 1822 to 1986. It is known as the longest operating prison in Canada.

Located within the Musée POP complex, The Old Prison is a must-see historical monument of history that was designed by Francois Baillairgé. It has been preserved in all of its original conditions.

It now offers unique attractions such as character heritage tours of the compound, escape rooms, a mock trial by jury, and a “One Night Sentence”, where visitors can experience a night in the 19th-century prison in this unique group experience.
