Hosting the largest free family day festival in Northern Ontario for 46 years, the Valley East Days festival is filled with many different activities and things, from many vendors providing food to musical acts and special guests.

The Valley East Day festival is a must to visit if you are in town during the festival weekend.

Langdon Park

One of the Rainbow Routes Trail, the Langdon Park & Nature Trail, is a beautiful 1.3km trail and park. The park trail is a bit isolated, but it’s a fantastic place to explore nature, bird-watch, have a small picnic, hike, and cross-country ski in the winter—an overall fun place for the family to enjoy and visit.

Kalmo Beach

Situated on the freshwater of Whitson Lake, Klamo Beach is a beautiful beach to visit in Valley East. The beach has a sandy shoreline surrounded by trees and small trails for a simple walk and hike. It is the best place to swim, play volleyball, or enjoy a boat ride.

The beach also offers many amenities, such as public bathrooms, changing rooms and lifeguards during the spring and summer months who surveillance and support anyone visiting the beach.

Movie Night

Providing many facilities such as a library, dining hall, children’s church and nursery, the Valleyview Community Church is important for the whole community. The church not only provides so many important religious events and Sunday services but, for many years, has hosted the infamous drive-in movie for the entire Valleyview community. The summer drive-in movies are free for admission for everyone, whether they are Christian or not, and most of the time, church plays some of the most popular recent box office movies.

Dinosaur Valley Mini Golf & Josephine’s Vegetables

With 36 holes to play and a vegetable garden where you can buy vegetables grown with no herbicides, the Dinosaur Valley Mini Golf & Josephine’s Vegetables is an exciting place to visit. The mini golf has many golf games children and adults can play. The golf course is surrounded by some of the coolest metal skeletons of dinosaurs you will probably ever see. The most famous skeleton that everyone comes to see when coming to the golf club is a  skeleton that is 22 feet long and 18 feet high, a dragon dinosaur skull.

Josephine’s vegetable garden behind the mini golf is the best place to pick up fresh vegetables before or after playing the game.

Wagon Wheel Ranch

A popular location normally picked for wedding venues, the Wagon Wheel Ranch is charming and picturesque. The ranch offers many activities adults and children alike can participate in. They have horseback riding activities where you can ride their horses through their brush trials and take a wagon wheel ride all over the property. Or, if you love animals, visit the small petting farm filled with sheep, goats and rabbits.

The ranch hosts many cool events for locals and visitors through the Valleyview area, one popular being the fall harvest. The harvest is a two-hour family fun event where you have only to pay an admission fee to enjoy a wagon wheel ride and, after the ride, hot chocolate and smores by a bonfire.
