Bioparc de la Gaspésie

Welcome to the jungle! Visit the Bioparc de la gaspesie; it’s the perfect destination to experience the diversity of majestic wildlife and the nature of the Canadian wild habitat. The park is an excellent stop for families with kids who want to explore and an intriguing sight for adults too!

The park opened in 1998; it displays over 40 native animal species, such as elegant gray wolves, robust black bears and many more. The park hopes to promote an experience for visitors to witness flora and fauna of the gaspesie in the natural environment. The facilities also offer a surreal nocturnal “overnight with the wolves’ activity in which small groups surround themselves with nature and wildlife for a night!

In addition to the mind-boggling adventure, you can experience 1.5 km of beautiful scenic trails perfect for relaxing, delicious snack bars, comfortable cottages, playgrounds, free parking and many more amenities. This is the perfect camping spot, open from June to October. Don’t miss it!

Quebec Acadian Museum in Bonaventure

Calling all the history lovers! The Quebec Acadian Museum in Bonaventure is the perfect destination for people interested in the intriguing history of Acadians of Quebec and the preservation of history through live performances, great exhibitions and more.

The museum was opened in 1760 by the Acadien fugitives of New Brunswick who escaped deportation. This museum is a hub of history and will take you back in time with its centuries-old buildings such as the Pavillon Orleans express, a former furniture store which displays the work of artist Marcel Arsenault, Pavillon Evangeline, a former forge turned gallery, Gospel chapel that is home to a food shop that specializes in local delicacies and many more.

Le Malin de la Rivière Bonaventure

Crystal-clear river water and bright blue skies are the next stop! Le Malin is the perfect mixture of aesthetics and nature’s beauty, making you never want to say bye!

This river is a scenic recreational site that lays on a pebble and sand beach bed and is the perfect family spot near route 132. This beach is one of the most Instagram-worthy beaches in the region, with its clear waters and green sceneries making it a family favourite.

There are free-of-cost life jackets available on the site, ensuring the safety of swimmers making it a family-friendly destination and; plus, it offers areas for dog owners to allow their pets to unwind at the beach too!

This summer, visit Le Malin, relax and bathe in the cool breeze, warm skies and calm waters. It’s a must!

Phare de la pointe Bonaventure

Phare de la Pointe is a scenic, astounding and peaceful camping destination surrounded by beautiful waters, and the highlight of the spot is the vintage 20th-century lighthouse built in 1902.

This spot is a popular camping location amongst tourists and locals, given its calm landscaping; it also is a great fishing spot if you’ve got the spirit to live the wildlife! The beach is a safe and secure area with many areas to picnic, play, and relax, making it a family-friendly destination. There is a cozy cafe near the entrance for visitors to enjoy refreshments and snacks, a beautiful marina, and a rustic red and white lighthouse open during the summer months to the public, and it is the star of the attraction.

Plage Beaubassin

Heard you’re going for a swim. If so, the plage beaubassin is the ideal spot, a hot water beach that stretches around a kilometre of a coastline with a beautiful view to relax and spend the day.

This sandy beach is a very popular camping area given its serene location, as well as numerous other activities such as seashell picking, fishing, boating, hiking and playgrounds for children making it an ideal family vacation. Grotte de St-Elzéar

Want to get lost in the rocky formations inside a cave that is over 200,000 years old? Then the Grotte de St-Elzéar is the destination for you!

This enchanting and primeval cave with breathtaking views of history that will take you down memory lane by a couple hundred thousand years is a destination for you to visit with family and friends. The cave is open from June-September and must be accessed by pre-booking through email.

To ensure safety, visitors are advised to wear warm clothing, and children should be accompanied by guardians at all times. The on-site amenities include guided visits, picnic areas, free wifi and bathroom facilities. The prices range from $45 for adults and $35 for children aged 6-17.

This cave is the most ‘rocking’ spot in Bonaventure; it must visit!
