The Columbia River is famous for fishing, with 30+ kilometres and up to 1,500 fish per kilometre. Fly fishing is available on the upper part of the river near Castlegar and Trail BC. Other types of fishing like spin-casting, tolling, jigging, and bottom bouncing are also common in this river. Trout is a famous catch in this large river. You can also find bass, crappie, walleye, and panfish in backwater and slough areas. Popular fishing holes include the Walleye Hole, Waneta Bridge Pool, Waneta Boat Launch, Trimac Eddy, Airport Run, and Beaver Creek Park.
