Octopus Park

Octopus Park is a must-visit in Desbiens if you are an outdoors person looking for intense summer fun! One of their key features is a floating water park, one of the three largest in Canada. They are closely connected to the water, with over 60 docks for seasonal use and visitors.

If you want to experience this fun for longer than a day, they offer overnight accommodation as they also have camping sites. In addition, you can expect to see things you would look at a provincial park, like rentals of canoes, bikes, and other services. If you are looking for a fun summer outing for you and your family, I definitely recommend checking them out. Their booking availability is on their website.

Parc Le Trou De La FĂ©e

A natural wonder offers a typical environment of the beautiful landscapes and sights of beauty the nature of Quebec provides. The massive park attracts tourists and residents alike because of its beauty and variety of things to do.

The park is also known as Fairy Hole Park and has gems of Quebec history, like the remnants of a hydroelectric plant from the 1920s. Visitors will be charmed by the canyon and can take part in water-driving walks or just walk and enjoy the river. Also, thrill seekers will be enchanted to know that Fairy Hole Park has 350 meters of zipline tracks 50 meters above the river. So even those looking for excitement will find something for them at the park.

Their website is full of experiences those visiting can partake in, like cave searching, immersive experiences, and more. I highly recommend visiting this natural wonder when in Desbiens!

Centre d’histoire et d’archéologie de la Métabetchouane

Are you a history buff? Do you want to learn more about how Desbiens came to be? Then you need to go here when visiting. It is a large historical and archeological site that draws wide interest. It holds human presence over several millennia all the way from Hudson’s Bay to the North Shore, showing trades and exchanges of goods that occurred in the past.

They have a wide variety of permanent and temporary exhibits where you can see different things each time. They even describe themselves as allowing visitors to relive how Lac-Saint-Jean was discovered. It has the oldest building in the region and is a must-visit for families. Finally, they also offer immersive workshops for all to take part in.

Circuit Pierre Tremblay

More of a seasonal attraction but a must-visit for motor cross fans. The circuit is where Desbiens holds their races, competitions, and more. Many who have visited regard it as a fun family experience. An amazing circuit along the water. Those visiting Desbiens can witness a fun race at the circuit and cool off by the water!

Some reviewers even say that the track is the perfect material for fans and racers alike. Since it relies on races and other seasonal events, to find information about what is going on at the track, you should check out their Facebook page and their website! Overall, a must-see for motor cross and racing fans.

H20 Expédition et Aventures

Another experience for those looking to get their hands dirty or wet in their travels. This attraction offers a series of water-based attractions along Lake Saint-Jean. They offer both rafting and canyoning at the beginner and experienced levels. They opened in 1993 and have been a focal point of fun in the area since then.

Worried about safety? You don’t have to; all activities, no matter their level, are accompanied by experienced guides and specialists to help visitors enjoy the experience safely. The prices for each experience vary, and they have their fees on their website—definitely, something to check out and catch some waves.

Camping Plage Blanchet

Another site for those enjoying nature on their trip to check out is this camping site. The site is close to many attractions like fairy hole park and octopus park for families and other travellers. They are attached to a wonderful sandy beach to enjoy during the summer to cool off from the heat.

The campgrounds offer both trailer and tent camping to give campers a choice of what they would like for their visit. Not to mention they have a variety of sites providing electrical and water services. The grounds are open from May to September and vary in fees, so I recommend checking their website out to go book!
