Gagetown Lighthouse

Erected in the 1930s, this lighthouse stands tall on the west bank of the Saint John River, where the river’s main branch makes an almost 90-degree turn. It’s been used over the years to help guide vessels along the river between Jemseg and Upper Musquash Island and to mark this particularly dramatic turn in the river.

Loomcrofters Studio

The Loomcrofters Studio building is one of the oldest in New Brunswick, dating back to 1789, and was a hand-weaving studio at one time. It is marked as a turning point in arts and crafts development in New Brunswick.

The building still includes historic furniture, cabinets, tables, shelving, and working looms used in the original business. There are also reproductions of the official gifts to royalty, remaining stock (ties, towels, ornaments, etc.) from the closure of the business, and unused materials like woollens, cotton, and synthetics. On top of all that, the entire business archive of papers, patterns, notes, letters, bills, and invoices remains intact.
