World’s Largest Perogy

Standing at about 8.2 m tall and weighing in at 2,721 kg, this statue, a member of The Giants of the Prairies, is a tribute to the village’s moniker of “Pyrogy Capital of the World”. The World’s Largest Perogy, a huge Ukrainian dumpling, is on a fork.

This gigantic statue serves as a great stop on any road trip and anyone you bring along is sure to be impressed by the biggest perogy in the world.

Annual Pyrogy Festival

Labour Day Weekend

Attracting about 500 guests annually, this festival serves as a celebration of Glendon’s history and heritage.

Occurring in early September, this festival features live music, delicious food and a perogy eating contest for all ages.

Glendon Derby & Mudbogs

August

Hosted on the second and fourth Saturday of August, the Glendon Derby is a demolition derby event featuring loud trucks, wreckage, and mud.

 

With awards such as Best Dressed and Most Aggressive Driver, this demolition event is sure to entice any fan of trucks, mud or just plain outdoor fun. In another mud-filled show, the mudbogs feature drivers making their way up and down a muddy track.

Glendon’s Cruise Night

Country Classic Car Club holds an annual show and shine on the 3rd Saturday in August in Glendon. On the cruise night people can show off their old cars while cruising down the Main Street of Glendon.

Taking place monthly from February to November, the Glendon Farmers Market offers fresh and local food such as vegetables honey, pickles, jams, as well as prepared foods such as cabbage rolls, buns, pies, and cookies.
