Westfield Beach

Previously a summer encampment for the Maliseet people where they trapped muskrats, gathered fiddleheads and selected wood and reeds to build furniture and baskets, now a beautiful sandy expanse of beach along the Saint John River. It became popular amongst area residents in the 1800s, with a tennis court and space for outdoor sporting events.

Now it exists as an unsupervised freshwater beach perfect for swimming and sunbathing. It also offers a picnic area with shelters and picnic tables.
