A very interesting example of small-town Saskatchewan prairie life. The museum covers the area’s deep history — from the Indigenous peoples who travelled the valley for thousands of years to the Métis settlements, the NWMP presence, early ranching, and the homesteading era.
The collection of photographs and artifacts from the beginnings of the community is well worth an hour or more. It looks small from the outside, but visitors consistently say there’s much more to see than they expected.
Entry is by donation. A great companion stop to the T. rex Discovery Centre — one tells the story of the land before humans, the other tells the story of the people who came after.
