Main Street itself is worth a stroll. The historic fire hall, built in 1915 after a catastrophic fire destroyed much of the original downtown, still stands. If you have a sweet tooth, an ice cream shop on Main Street serves hard and soft ice cream and other treats.
For a town of 400 people, the amount of activity, history, and volunteer energy packed into Ogema is genuinely remarkable. Four museums. A heritage railway. A 103-year-old grandstand. A Heritage Minute. And people like Carol Peterson and Wayne Myren and hundreds of other volunteers who make it all work.
